Report: Eric Wright close to San Francisco 49ers debut

Eric Wright has moved a step closer to being able to make his debut with the San Francisco 49ers, according to reports.

The cornerback, who has been practising with the team for two weeks, has been on the team's non-football injury list since joining the team in August.

NFL.com reports that the the 28-year-old could be added to the active roster next week, and that Nnamdi Asomugha could be cut to make room for the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player.

Last season, Wright made 37 tackles and an interception in 10 games.
