Fletcher Cox: 'I remained focused despite trade rumours'

Fletcher Cox rejects the notion that he was distracted by talk of him leaving the Philadelphia Eagles.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Fletcher Cox has claimed that he has not been distracted by rumours that he may be traded away from the team.

The Eagles were reportedly looking to swap the 24-year-old, but he is now set to stay for the 2015 campaign.

He told the Philadelphia Inquirer: "It would have been a distraction if I was to let that bother me or put me one step behind.

"I'm not trying to take one step backwards, I want to take one step forward every day. My job here is to play football and that's the most important thing to me."

Cox has made 12.5 sacks in three years.
