Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota wins the Heisman Trophy for the 2014 season as he earns 91% of the total vote in a comfortable victory.

Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota has won the Heisman Trophy for the 2014 season in a landslide victory.

The 21-year-old earned the prestigious award for the most outstanding player in the college game as he claimed 91% of the total votes.

Mariota finished with 2,534 votes in the process, 788 of which were for first place, following his excellent season for the Ducks as he led the team to a 12-1 record in the Pac-12.

Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon finished in second place, while Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Amari Cooper took third place.

Mariota threw for 3,773 yards along with 38 touchdowns to two interceptions for the Ducks this season, who now prepare for the first ever college playoffs and their clash against the Florida State Seminoles.
