Menelik Watson drafted by Oakland Raiders

Britain's Menelik Watson has been picked by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

The Manchester-born 24-year-old had hopes of playing football for Manchester City before he suffered a serious break of his ankle in 2001.

He moved to the USA in 2006 to join a basketball academy before eventually enrolling at Florida State University to further his American football career.

Watson was the 42nd pick overall in this year's NFL Draft.
