Pryor vows to "battle" for starting place

Terrelle Pryor has said that he expects to "battle" with Matt Flynn for the starting quarterback role at the Oakland Raiders.

Flynn joined the AFC West side in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, while the 2012 starter, Carson Palmer, has joined the Arizona Cardinals.

Pryor told CSN Bay Area: "It's the business of the game. We had a great quarterback leave, a great quarterback left, and we brought in another pretty good quarterback.

"You have to have good quarterbacks to win in this league. Matt's great. We have good chemistry already.

"Whether Carson was going to be here or [not], it doesn't matter, I have to battle. It doesn't matter. Like coach says, cream rises to the top, no matter what."

The 23-year-old has started one game during his two seasons with the Raiders, competing two touchdown passes.
