Half-Time Report: New York Jets score late to lead Oakland Raiders

Jets score late to lead

The New York Jets needed a late second-quarter touchdown to take a 10-7 lead into the halfway stage of their match against the Oakland Raiders this afternoon.

The hosts got their first points of the new campaign with just over nine minutes remaining of the opening quarter as Nick Folk kicked over a 45-yard field goal.

It was the Raiders who got the first touchdown of the match, however, as Geno Smith's pass was acrobatically intercepted by Charles Woodson to win possession back for the visitors.

They made the most of the turnover, with Derek Carr throwing his first touchdown pass in the NFL to find Rod Streater, who snuck into the endzone down the left.

Just as the second quarter looked like it would be ending without further score, the hosts regained the lead through a Chris Johnson touchdown after he had been found by a five-yard Smith pass.
