Drew Brees discusses longevity of career

New Orleans Saints veteran Drew Brees admits that he might have over-exaggerated how long he can continue to play for.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has discussed how long he intends on continuing to play in the NFL.

The 36-year-old had previously suggested that he would like to continue playing until he was 45 years old, but has now backtracked on that initial suggestion.

"Forty-five is a long way away," Brees told ESPN.

"I'm 36 right now, and I know I got maybe a little overzealous last year when I threw out the number 45."

Brees reiterated that he isn't ready to step down as starter for the Saints yet, while praising the new line of receivers that the organisation has acquired.
