Rob Gronkowski has undergone a third operation on his broken arm after contracting an infection.
The New England Patriots tight end needed further surgery after developing an infection in his elbow.
The 23-year-old initially broke his forearm in November, before returning for the final game of the regular season, but he re-broke the bone in the playoffs.
Earlier this month, Gronkowski told the Patriots website that he was ready to resume training in preparation for the 2013 NFL season after having his cast removed.
