Rob Gronkowski will try to return to practice with the New England Patriots this week.
The tight end has been recovering from surgery after breaking his arm on November 19.
Head coach Bill Belichick told reporters: "Hopefully, today is better than yesterday. Hopefully, tomorrow is better than today."
The 23-year-old has 10 touchdowns this season.
The Patriots, who have won all three games without Gronkowski, face the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.
