Dwayne Allen admits Indianapolis Colts were beaten by "better side"

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen admits that his team's performance, rather than under-inflated balls, were to blame for their loss to the New England Patriots.

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen has dismissed suggestions that under-inflated balls were to blame for his side's defeat to the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Allen's team were destroyed 45-7 in the AFC championship game, although many have called foul play by the Patriots, with a report stating that softer balls could have made things easier for them.

However, the Colts man hit back at the claim via Twitter, and stated that his team were simply beaten by the better team.

Despite Allen's admission, the Patriots are under investigation and they could face a punishment of a $25,000 (£16,543) fine or the docking of Draft picks if found guilty of tampering with the balls before the match.
