Tom Brady: 'I have confidence in pass catchers'

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady insists that he has confidence in his receivers after throwing a match-winning touchdown pass with five seconds left against the New Orleans Saints yesterday.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has insisted that he has confidence in his pass catchers following his side's dramatic 30-27 win over the New Orleans Saints last night.

Brady threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Kenbrell Thompkins with just five seconds left of the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Patriots, ending the Saints' unbeaten record in the process.

The two-time NFL MVP admitted that they weren't perfect having lost their top five receivers from last season, but insists that he has faith in the likes of Thompkins, Aaron Dobson, Danny Amendola and Austin Collie.

"Guys made big-time catches. It was just a great game. I have confidence in those guys. We're certainly not perfect out there. We're definitely just grinding," Brady told the Associated Press.

The 36-year-old also singled out Thompkins for special praise following his match-winning catch.

"We had everybody going to the end zone and [Thompkins] kind of snuck into the corner and I put it up there for him and he came down and made a great catch," Brady added.

The result means the Patriots remain top of the AFC East with a 5-1 record.
