Half-Time Report: Denver Broncos bossing lacklustre New England Patriots

Broncos bossing lacklustre Patriots

Denver Broncos have given themselves a great chance to go 10-1 at the top of the AFC West by opening up a 24-0 half-time lead over the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

The visitors went ahead after four minutes when Stevan Ridley coughed up the ball under pressure from Wesley Woodyard, and Von Miller returned from 60 yards with the Patriots all at sea.

Knowshon Moreno put John Fox's men further in front after taking a hand-off from Peyton Manning to rush the end zone from two yards, before Matt Prater made it 17-0 by the end of the first quarter.

The Broncos' dominance continued in the second quarter, with Jacob Tamme getting in between Duron Harmon and Dont'a Hightower in coverage to swallow Manning's 10-yard pass.

The Patriots, currently 7-3 at the top of the AFC East, look like falling to a second-straight defeat following Tuesday's late heartbreak in Carolina.
