Mike Tomlin: 'We came up short'

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin admits that his side "came up short" against the Minnesota Vikings at Wembley.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has admitted that his side "came up short" against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Steelers are still looking for their first win after a 34-27 defeat at the hands of the Vikings at Wembley left them 0-4 for the season.

"Obviously a disappointing loss, but really, who am I kidding. They all are, regardless the manner of which they unfold. We came up short today. We did some things better than we had in recent weeks. We did some things worse. We gave up explosion plays. You can't do that," Tomlin told reporters.

"Coming up short. I like the fight of the guys and I like their belief in what it is we are doing and each other, just have to do it better. We are not going to make any excuses. Going to chew everything we've got coming. Obviously, more importantly than that, we are going to focus on getting better. That's what's going to change the outcome of these football games. Those that don't, aren't going to be a part of us.

"I have great patience. We'll continue to work and get better, as long as I see belief and effort and continued improvement in detail, because that's what's going to change the outcome of these games. Those that don't, they won't be a part of it, whoever it may be. It's just that simple. But again, disappointing. We'll look at the tape. We'll work to improve. Obviously do what's appropriate in that regard."

The match saw the Vikings pick up their first win of the season, having also started 0-3.
