Bishop: 'I still have potential'

Minnesota Vikings linebacker Desmond Bishop has said that he still has potential to fulfill.

The 29-year-old joined the NFC North side after being released by divisional rivals the Green Bay Packers earlier this year.

Bishop told the team's website: "Every time I'm out there it's an audition. You have to always show up and play your best. That's all I did. That's all I could do.

"I feel good. I feel like I'm ready. I think I'm doing a pretty good job. The scary part is that I still have a lot of potential to fulfill, so I'm excited.

"It's a process, the transformation, the new defense, getting my feet back under me. It's all been a process. I have steadily been getting better each game."

Head coach Leslie Frazier revealed earlier this month that Bishop would have to prove himself to earn a place on the team's 53-man roster.
