Miami Dolphins re-sign second-choice quarterback Matt Moore

Quarterback Matt Moore re-signs for the Miami Dolphins after briefly entering free agency.

Quarterback Matt Moore has rejoined the Miami Dolphins.

The 30-year-old became a free agent last month when his four-year deal with the Florida side ran out.

However, he has decided to extend his stay with the franchise and will resume his role as Ryan Tannehill's backup.

NFL Media reports that it is now unlikely that Miami will go ahead and sign free agent Tarvaris Jackson, who visited the team last week to hold talks.

Moore has not thrown a NFL touchdown since 2012.
