Which prop bets could pay off at Super Bowl LIV?

With Super Bowl LIV just around the corner, punters are beginning to take an interest in their prop bets, but which selections may bring you a profit?

With Super Bowl LIV scheduled to take place in Miami on February 2, punters are naturally beginning to debate who will prevail out of Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. However, while there will be plenty of action in the betting markets regarding the victor, winning margin and highest-scoring quarter, punters will also be paying similar attention to the prop bets which are made available in the build-up to the showdown at the Hard Rock Stadium. For those of you unaware of what a prop bet involves, it is making a prediction on something which may or may not occur away from the main action, such as the National Anthem, half-time show or any unusual happenings during the event in its entirety.

When considering your prop bets for the Super Bowl, you have to take two things into consideration: value and fun. There is little point in looking for likely certainties at low odds because you are not going to gain any satisfaction from it if and when it happens. For us, our attention goes straight to Jennifer Lopez, for her first song choice during the half-time show, obviously. You are going to get a wide selection to select from and they all provide value. 'Waiting for Tonight' at +800 (8/1) takes our fancy. The 49ers have not won the Super Bowl since 1995, with Kansas' wait lasting since 1970, so there is at least some logic behind that selection. Of course, J-Lo is not the only star name who is performing over Super Bowl Sunday, and over the week as a whole. Lil Wayne will be on stage in Miami on the Friday to get things pumped for the weekend.

We will also be taking an interest in the advertising during the event. While many of you may predict that a food or drinks company will appear first, the chances are that it will be a car promotion, and that has led to betting odds being compiled regarding which brand has paid to feature ahead of the rest. There is little point in betting on bookies favourites Hyundai, who are priced below Evens, so we are going to plump for Audi, who can be had at +350 (7/2).

With Patrick Mahomes the odds-on favourite to be named as the MVP given his exploits for the Chiefs in recent months, it means that there is value in backing any of the other players in the respective squads to out-shine the quarter-back. The 49ers fans - and maybe even some of the Chiefs supporters - may fancy the +275 (11/4) being offered for Jimmy Garoppolo to steal the spotlight in Florida, but teammate Raheem Mostert gets our pick. At +700 (7/1), he can be classed in the category of 'speculative but realistic', with the rest of the contenders being priced towards +1900 (19/1).
