Ed Reed taken off Houston Texans' physically unable to perform list

Houston Texans safety Ed Reed is no longer on the team's physically unable to perform list.

Ed Reed has been removed from the Houston Texans' physically unable to perform list, the team has confirmed.

Head coach Gary Kubiak announced on Friday that the safety would be moved to the active roster this weekend, completing the move ahead of the deadline for final cuts yesterday evening.

The 34-year-old, who left the Baltimore Ravens during free agency earlier this year, missed the team's pre-season games while recovering from hip surgery.

Reed made 58 tackles and four interceptions for the Super Bowl champions last season.
