The AFC East side's offense made a slow start to the game as Zach Sudfield, Brandon Bolden and Shane Vereen all lost fumbles early on, while quarterback Tom Brady threw an interception.

A second-quarter touchdown from tight end Tony Scheffler along with three field goals from David Akers helped the NFC North team to a comfortable lead at half time, before Joseph Fauria, Michael Spurlock and Theo Riddick all found the end zone.

Running back Reggie Bush led the Lions in receiving taking five catches for 103 yards.

Starting quarterback Matthew Stafford played the entire first half for Detroit, completing 12 of 25 attempts and 166 yards and a touchdown.
