Von Miller to keep Denver Broncos signing bonus

The Denver Broncos and Von Miller come to an agreement that will see the linebacker keep his signing bonus despite missing the first six games of the season.

The Denver Broncos and linebacker Von Miller have come to an agreement that will see the player keep his signing bonus for this season.

The Broncos attempted to get back the fee, thought to be more than $1m (£611,770), after Miller was suspended for the first six games of the 2013 season.

The two-time Pro Bowler suffered a tumultuous campaign that also saw him face two charges for traffic violations and pick up a season-ending injury when he tore his ACL in December.

The verdict of the case between the Broncos and Miller was expected later this week, but the two parties agreed a settlement between themselves that will see the 24-year-old keep his bonus.

Miller's injury kept him out of last night's Super Bowl, which saw the Broncos beaten 43-8 by the Seattle Seahawks.
