Dallas Cowboys' Jerry Jones keen for London-based NFL team

Jones wants NFL team in London

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has revealed that he would like to see an NFL team based in London.

The NFL have discussed the possibility of moving a franchise to the United Kingdom based off the success of the International Series games played at Wembley Stadium since the 2007 season.

Jones feels that London would be an excellent base for a team, and believes that an expansion abroad would be good for the league.

"On a personal basis and speaking for the Dallas Cowboys we very much would like to have a team in London," Jones told reporters.

"It has cache. It has an air about it of international competition I think that London is probably one of two or three cities outside of the United States that really does have all of the criteria that I would look at for having an NFL team."

The Cowboys play at Wembley Stadium for the first time in their clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
