Half-Time Report: Pittsburgh Steelers in complete control against Cleveland Browns

Steelers in complete control over Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers have taken a commanding 27-3 lead into half time of their NFL opener against NFC North rivals the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field this evening.

The Steelers had an early touchdown nullified due to a penalty against Kelvin Beachum for holding, but they still came away from the attack with points on the board as Shaun Suisham kicked over a 36-yard field goal.

Billy Cundiff levelled the scores with a 39-yard kick of his own, but the Steelers were back ahead before the end of the opening quarter courtesy of their first touchdown of the season, LeGarrette Blount powering over from seven yards.

The hosts opened up a commanding lead in the second quarter as they crossed into the endzone again, this time Antonio Brown latching on to a deep 35-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger, who had escaped a potential sack before picking out his receiver on the run.

Things got even better for Pittsburgh midway through the second quarter as Le'Veon Bell jinked his way past a number of tackles to race in for a 38-yard touchdown.

Suisham added a late field goal to edge his side even further ahead, giving them a 24-point advantage going into the second half.
