Bernard Pierce released by Baltimore Ravens

Pierce cut after drink driving arrest

The Baltimore Ravens have released running back Bernard Pierce after he was arrested this morning for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 23-year-old was stopped by police just before 2am, and then taken into custody after he failed sobriety tests.

On the way to the station, Pierce allegedly told police: "Do you know what happened the last time a Ravens player got a DUI? I'm getting cut tomorrow, not like you care."

Pierce scored just two touchdowns in 13 games last season.
