Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has expressed his belief that they have hired "the best guy" for the job in new offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak.

The Ravens' search for a successor to Jim Caldwell ended yesterday as they agreed a deal with Kubiak, who was fired as head coach of the Houston Texans in December.

However, despite the Texans' poor record last campaign, Harbaugh admits that he had always found it difficult to play against an offense led by Kubiak, which contributed to the team's decision to sign the 52-year-old.

"It was a great process. It may have taken us back to where, in the beginning, you might assume we started. In the end, this is the way it worked, and we have the best guy," Harbaugh told reporters.

"In your mind, you always keep list of the guys that give you the most trouble as coaches. With this staff, what they've done offensively, has been kind of a pain in our rear."

The Ravens ranked 29th in offense during the 2013 season - the team's worst record in eight years.
