Tony Gonzalez wants to finish his 16-year NFL career with a win in the playoffs.

Tony Gonzalez has said that he would like to finish his NFL career with a win in the playoffs.

The Atlanta Falcons tight end has never won a post-season game during his 16-season career.

The 36-year-old told the Falcons' website: "The reason we went through the regular season, especially for me, is to get to this point.

"I was going to retire last year. But this is why you play the game and you always think about what you've been through in the past, the tough and heartbreaking losses that I've had in the playoffs. Hopefully, it is for a reason because it'd make it so much sweeter.

"I know what it takes. I know what it's like to go through a whole career of 16 years and never had a playoff win, let alone a Super Bowl. It's tough but the ball is in our court. We can go out there and change it this year and hopefully we can."

The Falcons have a bye week this week, having finished as the top seed in the NFC.
