Wrestler grabs Sweden's first gold

Swedish wrestler Sofia Mattsson made her way into the record books after winning her country's first ever gold medal at the European Games.

Mattsson overcame Poland's Katarzyna Krawczyk in the 55kg freestyle final, winning 4-1 by technical superiority.

To reach the final, Mattsson defeated Azerbaijan's Natalya Sinishin 3-1 in the semis, while Krawczyk beat Russian Federation wrestler Irina Ologonova.

In the bronze medal matches, Sinishin defeated challenger Tetyana Kit of Ukraine, while Ologonova was unsuccesful, losing to Bulgaria's Evelina Nikolova.
