Sweden took a 1-0 lead after end two and extended their advantage to 3-0 in the next end.

Team GB got their first points on the scorecard in the fourth end to cut Sweden's lead to 3-1, and Eve Muirhead's team reduced the deficit even further as they went into the break just 3-2 down.

In a tightly-fought sixth end, Great Britain got themselves level for the first time in the match with a steal.

However, Muirhead's team were left with a fight on their hands as Sweden restored their two-point lead to make it 5-3 in the seventh end, but the gap was then closed to just one point again.

It proved be in vain, though, as the Swedes won the penultimate end before a scoreless final end saw them emerge victorious.

The next match for Muirhead, Anna Sloan, Vicki Adams, Claire Hamilton and alternate Lauren Gray is against USA tomorrow.
