Penny Coomes, Nicholas Buckland finish 11th in figure skating short dance

Great Britain's Penny Coomes and Nicholas Buckland have secured 11th place in today's figure skating short dance program at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

The Nottingham duo's routine was penalised by the judges due to an extended lift, and so they were deducted a point.

The couple's score of 59.33 and position outside the top 10 nonetheless still mean that they are through to the next round, as the top 20 qualify for tomorrow's free dance program finals.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White of the United States lead the standings with a score of 78.89.
