Jack Whelbourne still unsure over 1,000m

British speed skater Jack Whelbourne has said that he is yet to decide whether he will be fit to take part in tomorrow's 1,000m heats at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The 22-year-old injured his ankle during a fall in the 1,500m final on Monday, but X-rays confirmed that he did not suffer a fracture.

The British Olympic Association confirmed that he has been working in the pool and on a bike, but has not tried to skate since the fall.

Whelbourne is the first Great Britain skater to have reached the final of the 1,500m event at an Olympics.
