Timson: 'British athletes have higher expectations'

UK Sport director of performance Simon Timson has claimed that Great Britain's Winter Olympians are expecting to win medals.

Jenny Jones claimed Team GB's first medal of the Sochi Games when she won bronze in the women's snowboard slopestyle on Sunday.

"British Olympic Winter sport is definitely having higher and higher expectations of itself," Timson told BBC Sport.

UK Sport chief executive Liz Nicholl has previously stated that three medals would be an acceptable target to reach for Team GB.
