Musgrave: 'I prefer the sprint'

Great Britain cross-country skier Posy Musgrave has admitted that she prefers the sprint freestyle event after recording a 66th-place finish in today's Olympic women's 10km classic race.

The Olympic debutante, who is the older sister of fellow British cross-country skier Andrew, recorded a time of 36:18.5.

The 27-year-old told reporters after the race: "My preparation was really good but I just felt very flat today and I didn't have enough energy. I started off 57th and because of the very sunny weather that slowed down the course slightly.

"I am enjoying my Olympic experience but what today has taught me is that I personally prefer the sprint."

Poland's Justyna Kowalczyk won the women's cross-country 10km classical race at Sochi 2014, despite skiing with a fractured foot.
