David Murdoch "emotional" after women's curling bronze

Team GB men's skip David Murdoch says that a "perfect second half" helped Eve Muirhead's women's team win the bronze medal at Sochi 2014.

Great Britain men's skip David Murdoch has heaped praise on the women's curling team after they secured bronze medals at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Eve Muirhead's side beat Switzerland 6-5 on Thursday to claim third spot, while Murdoch will lead his foursome in the men's final on Friday.

Shortly after the women's match, Murdoch told BBC Sport: "It's incredible. I'm so delighted for them, and it's quite emotional actually. It's credit to them for four years hard work. They deserve everything they've got.

"It's a long couple of weeks and a bit of a marathon. It's tough after a semi final loss and you certainly don't want to go home with no medal - that's not nice.

"They played the back half so well and it was a perfect ending by the girls. We've all spent a lot of time working so hard for these Olympic Games so I'm just so happy for them."

This bronze medal added to at least the silver which the men will win means that this is Team GB's most successful Games since 1924.
