Jenna McCorkell "pretty pleased" with short programme

British figure skater Jenna McCorkell says that she is "pretty pleased" with her short programme performance in the Winter Olympics, despite not making the top 24.

Great Britain's Jenna McCorkell has said that she was "pretty pleased" with her performance in the women's figure skating short programme, despite missing out on a chance to perform her free skate.

The 11-time British champion finished 25th in today's competition, with only the top 24 returning for the second day of the event.

The 27-year-old told Team GB's website: "I've proved twice that cloud of Vancouver can go away and leave me alone now, it has been playing on my mind a little bit.

"Having the team event allowed me to settle my nerves and proved that I could cope under the pressure of the Olympics. The little cloud came back again this morning and it took a bit of work to push it away again.

"I skated the best I could and I'm not disappointed, I'm pretty pleased. I didn't land my triple toe loop as perfectly as I could have but all the elements were there and I did my best. I'm happy with how I've done here."

McCorkell finished 29th in Vancouver in 2010.
