Lightfoot: Opening ceremony was "overwhelming"

British biathlete Amanda Lightfoot has said that the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics was an "overwhelming" experience for her.

Lightfoot was one of 56 Team GB athletes to march out at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi on Friday.

"It was absolutely amazing coming in," she said. "It was overwhelming.

"I've never been in front of such a big crowd. That was one of the proudest moments of my life. I was speechless."

Jon Eley was the flagbearer for Team GB during the opening ceremony.
