Jenny Jones "absolutely ecstatic" over first Great Britain snow medal

Great Britain snowboarder Jenny Jones has admitted that she is "absolutely ecstatic" over her bronze medal in the Sochi Olympic snowboard slopestyle event.

The 33-year-old recorded a score of 87.25 during her second run in Sunday's competition to secure Team GB's first ever podium finish on snow.

Jones told reporters: "It feels amazing. I cannot believe it, I just can't believe it. Even when I was in the gold medal position I knew I was going to drop but I didn't know how far. I am just so happy that I stayed on the podium.

"I feel absolutely ecstatic, I'm just so chuffed to have made it onto the podium. I knew I'd drop down because there were so many girls to come but it was just a question of how far. When the last girl went and I realised she'd missed the rail, I thought, 'oh my goodness I've made it'.

"I'm feel very proud to have won a bronze medal for my country, I can't believe it's our first on snow."

Finland's Enni Rukajarvi took silver, while Team USA snowboarder Jamie Anderson won gold at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park.
