Mike Hay: 'Great Britain heading in right direction'

Great Britain chef de mission Mike Hay says that the team are "heading in the right direction" following their record-equalling performance in Sochi.

Great Britain's chef de mission Mike Hay has said that the team is "heading in the right direction" following the conclusion of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Team GB matched their record medal hall in Russia with four podium finishes, including gold in the women's skeleton.

Hay told Team GB's official website: "We are certainly heading in the right direction in terms of athletes competing for medals. It is a good platform to move on from.

"It is about being credible and being able to prove we are worth investing in. We are making a difference here. Invest in us and we'll show you what we can do in Pyeongchang."

Russia finished top in the medal table with 13 golds, 11 silvers and nine bronze.
