Team GB curling team target more success

Team GB's Vicki Adams targets further success in the curling event in Sochi.

Team GB curling athlete Vicki Adams has targeted further success in Sochi after winning last year's World Championship title.

Adams, who is hoping to improve on Britain's seventh-place finish at the Vancouver Games four years ago, has experienced much joy in the event of late.

As well as becoming world champion, Adams has also picked up three European medals, something which she hopes can work in Great Britain's favour at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

"Obviously going in as world champions, we're going to have that target on our back, but we don't really think of it like that," the 25-year-old told Sportsbeat.

"We know that we didn't fluke [the World Championship] so we know that if we can play as well as that or even better, then we are going to do well at the end of the week.

"We've all had different experiences at international level as well. I guess there is additional pressure but only if you let it get to you. We've had that many training events and competitions leading up to the Games, that we just take each event as it comes and don't think too far ahead."

Britain will face Sweden in a repeat of December's European Championship final tomorrow when their campaign gets underway.
