Great Britain win first Winter Paralympic gold

Great Britain have secured their first ever Winter Paralympic gold medal courtesy of Kelly Gallagher in the visually-impaired Super-G event in Sochi.

The 28-year-old and her guide Charlotte Evans set a time of one minute 28.72 seconds when they were the first skiers to take to the course.

The triumph comes after the pair finished sixth in the downhill event on Saturday, while the weekend's silver medallist Jade Etherington clinched bronze with a time of one minute 29.76 seconds.

Russia's Aleksandra Frantceva grabbed the silver medal with a time of one minute 28.94 seconds.
