Lizzy Yarnold motivated ahead of world bid

Lizzy Yarnold has admitted that she is keen to complete the set of global honours by winning gold at the skeleton world championship.

Yarnold, who won Olympic gold in 2014, added a European title to her list of achievements earlier this year, but after marginally missing out on retaining her World Cup crown, the British competitor has revealed that she is motivated as ever to come out on top in Germany.

The 26-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "It would be an honour to be the first Briton to hold the World, Olympic and European titles together. I'm feeling really motivated."

Great Britain are taking a six-strong team to the event, which begins in Winterberg on February 23.
