Elise Christie wins 1,000m event at Turkey World Cup meeting

British short-track speed skater Elise Christie has won the 1,000m event at the Short-Track Speed Skating World Cup in Erzurem, Turkey.

Christie finished the race over a second ahead of Canadian Kasandra Bradette.

The result means that Christie ends the season in second place in the World Cup 1,000m standings.

The British number one's teammate Charlotte Gilmartin failed to qualify for the 'A' final in the 1,500m event but won the 'B' final.

Christie will compete in the 500m event tomorrow.
