Short track speed skater Elise Christie clinches silver in World Cup 500m

British short track speed skater Elise Christie has clinched a silver medal in the 500m World Cup event in Dresden, Germany.

The 24-year-old, who won her first European title last month, is sixth in the overall standings with one event left to go.

In the race, Italy's Arianna Fontana secured gold, while China's Fan Kexin snatched a bronze medal, which was enough to give her the overall title.

In the previous World Cup tournament in December, Christie came away with two bronze medals.
