France's Souhad Ghazouani clinches -67.50kg powerlifting gold

France's Souhad Ghazouani has secured a gold medal for her nation in the women's -67.50kg powerlifting category.

The 30-year-old, who has been a dominant figure in the sport, almost broke her personal record by lifting the 148kg but was unsuccessful.

Despite failing to complete the lift, the Frenchwoman secured a Paralympic record of 146kg to grab the coveted gold honour.

Tan Yujiao of China managed to keep her place in the silver-medal position, while Nigerian Victoria Nneji, who came second in Beijing four years ago, snatched the bronze medal.
