Michael Bisping headlines Brazil event against Vitor Belfort

British middleweight Michael Bisping has been confirmed in the main event of the UFC's first event of 2013 in Brazil.

Bisping will take on former light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort in his native country on Saturday, January 19.

Belfort vs. Bisping will be the feature bout at UFC on FX 7, with venue and details to be announced in the next few weeks.

The Manchester contender has won five of his last six fights, including a unanimous decision victory over former US marine Brian Stann in September.

Victory over Belfort would put Bisping within touching distance of a shot at UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva in 2013.
