Jodie Stimpson hoping to inspire Team England

Commonwealth gold medallist Jodie Stimpson is hopeful that her gold in the triathlon can inspire Team England for the remainder of the competition.

England picked up two medals in the women's triathlon earlier this afternoon, with Vicky Holland also landing on the podium after finishing in third place.

Questioned whether her gold could inspire the rest of the team, Stimpson responded: "I hope so. Team England have got an awesome team, there are some fantastic athletes.

"The Brownlee brothers are coming on later and we have definitely have the favourites in that one."

The men's race is due to start at 3pm.
