Team England's Vicky Holland is delighted to have added triathlon relay gold to her Commonwealth Games bronze medal and is grateful for the support.
Team England triathlete Vicky Holland has admitted that the team relay event is thoroughly enjoyable and hopes that it can be included in future Olympic Games.
Holland said that the relay is a great spectacle for the supporters and was delighted to have added gold to the Commonwealth Games bronze that she won on Saturday.
"It's a brilliant event, it's totally inclusive, it's girls and guys on the podium together, it's fast and furious and spectators just love it," she told Team England.
"The support we've been getting has been incredible, all the messages on social media have been off the charts. I'm just elated and also exhausted.
"There was a push to get the mixed team relay into Rio but unfortunately no new events were accepted, which was a great shame."
Alistair Brownlee, Jonny Brownlee and Jodie Stimpson made up the relay team.
