Tim Henman: 'Jonas Bjorkman, Andy Murray pairing will work well'

British tennis legend Tim Henman says that Andy Murray's new coach Jonas Bjorkman will prove to be a great addition to the Scot's backroom staff.

Tennis pundit Tim Henman has suggested that Andy Murray's latest coaching addition Jonas Bjorkman will have a positive impact on the Scot's playing style.

Bjorkman is one of Murray's latest recruits and will look to aid the 28-year-old alongside his pregnant coach Amelie Mauresmo.

"I know Jonas very well, I played 10 years at least on the tour with him, we practised together a lot and he's a great guy," Henman told PA.

"I think he will have a very positive impact, and he'll have more and more responsibility with Amelie Mauresmo's pregnancy. You talk about someone getting the maximum out of their game, he was limited but he made it to four in the world.

"He knew exactly what to do to make sure he went absolutely as far as he could in the game. And that kind of depth of analysis and work ethic will definitely translate into making him a good coach."

Murray recently cruised into the third round of Wimbledon with a comfortable victory over Robin Haase.
