Yanina Wickmayer into Paris Open quarter-finals

Yanina Wickmayer has made it through to the quarter-finals of the Paris Open thanks to a straight-sets victory over Christina McHale.

The Belgian was rarely troubled in the first set as her superior forehand brushed off her opponent 6-2.

McHale proved more resistant in the second, but Wickmayer battled through to take the set 7-5.

Wickmayer will face Germany's Mona Barthel for a place in the final four.
