Jo-Wilfried Tsonga through in Dubai

Jo-Wilfried Tsogna has joined Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray in qualifying for round two of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The world number five achieved the feat by defeating Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis.

The opening set was tightly contested and ended with a tie-break. Frenchman Tsonga came out on top to take the first set 7-2.

Tsonga pressed home his domination in the next set to wrap up the match 7-6 6-4.
