Juan Martin Del Potro reaches Dubai semis

Juan Martin Del Potro has set up a semi-final with Roger Federer at the Dubai Championships following a straight-sets victory over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Both players were evenly matched in the first set as Tsonga's agility countered Del Potro's big baseline hitting to take proceedings to a tie-break.

Despite the apparent parity, the Argentine caught the Frenchman flat in the tie-break with a 7-1 victory.

Tsonga wilted soon after that as Del Potro brushed aside his opponent in the second 6-2.

World number one Novak Djokovic will meet Andy Murray in the other final-four encounter.
