Andy Murray crushes Alex Bogomolov Jr in second round of Japan Open

Andy Murray eases past Bogomolov

Andy Murray thumped American Alex Bogomolov Jr in 58 minutes to reach the quarter-finals of the Japan Open today.

The world number four crushed his opponent 6-1 6-2 in the second round of the competition in Tokyo.

Despite enduring a tough battle against Marcos Baghdatis to get past the first stage of the tournament yesterday, the Scot sailed through to the quarter-finals after breaking Bogomolov's serve five times.

The 28-year-old American failed to get off the mark after the British number one broke three times in the first set followed by a double break in the second.

Murray has only lost once in his last 19 competitive matches.
