Novak Djokovic determined to come back stronger after losing French Open final

Djokovic determined to come back stronger

Novak Djokovic has vowed to come back stronger after losing to Stanislas Wawrinka in the French Open final.

The world number one was denied a career Grand Slam on Sunday as he was beaten in four sets by the Swiss.

Despite leaving Roland Garros empty-handed, Djokovic remains hopeful of winning the tournament one day.

"I want to say congratulations to Stan," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "It is not very easy for me to speak now. There are things that are more important in life than victories and that is character and respect - Stan you are a great champion with big heart.

"I want to say thank you to my team, my wife and the French public. I will be back next year to try again to win the title."

Wawrinka now has two Grand Slam titles to his name after winning the Australian Open back in 2014.
